NOW FOR THE SECOND BOOK

Having found an on-line publisher - lulu.com - and published one book already, the logical next step was to publish a second one (I've got another six in line!).

This one's called 'los doce garbanzos', which translated from the original Spanish means 'the twelve chick-peas'. The story takes place in Morocco, in a small village near Tangiers, where a young boy discovers, on the death of his father, the amazing power of faith. It highlights, above all, the values of culture and education.

The book was written mainly for adolescents, especially my grandson,... and for those who went through that difficult stage in years gone by.

AUGUST

In deference to my cousin's family, I shall not be posting any articles during this month either. You can of course scroll down and read some of my earlier postings. You'll find articles on a wide variety of subjects. I wish you all a happy summer holiday. Back in September.

LAURA RAHAL - R.I.P.

A whole month has gone by and it all becomes clear now.
Like Ceasar, she came, she conquered and now she's gone.

I never met her. I never got to know her.
Yet, there she was, my cousin's only daughter;
a gift from heaven, an angel in disguise
on loan to us, headed for paradise.
Her smiling face will live forever after.
Her time with us, so full of happy laughter,
was not in vain. Her mission over, she said goodbye
and flew out of that plane and headed for the sky.
